College Masters of CUHK & CUHK, Shenzhen Hold First Online Meeting
College Masters of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen (CUHKSZ) held first collaboration meeting on 6 May 2022. Prof. Chan Wai Yee, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Strategic Development) of CUHK, and Prof. Zhu Shi-Ping, Vice President (External & Student Affairs) of CUHKSZ, together with 9 College Masters of CUHK, 4 College Masters of CUHKSZ and College representatives met to discuss collaboration opportunities between the colleges of the two campuses.
The discussion began with welcoming remarks delivered by Prof. Chan Wai Yee and Prof. Zhu Shi-Ping, who co-chaired the meeting. College Masters gave introductions of individual Colleges and shared experience on current inter-college activities. Participants exchanged ideas on enhancing interflow among Colleges of the two campuses, such as co-organizing lectures, high table dinners, singing contest and sports competitions, etc. Further plans may comprise forming sister colleges and establishing joint student projects on specific themes with the aim to nurture students’ interpersonal skills and cultural integration, and build up their confidence and sense of social responsibility.
CUHK and CUHKSZ established a Task Force on Collaboration to provide a platform to promote collaboration and enhance the integration and development of the two campuses with joint efforts and mutual benefits. As suggested by the New Initiative Subgroup under Task Force, the first joint meeting for College Masters was convened to enhance links and discuss collaborations.
