CUHK and Beijing Economic and Technological Development Zone meet online
The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) held online meeting with representatives from Liaison Office of the Leading Group for Beijing Talent Affairs, and Beijing Economic and Technological Development Zone (BETDZ) on 28 March 2022. Participants attending the meeting included Mr. Zong Da-Yong, Executive Director of Liaison Office of the Leading Group for Beijing Talent Affairs, and Ms. Wang Li-Jun, Deputy Director of Innovation and Technology Bureau of BETDZ. CUHK members Professor Daniel Lee, Associate Vice-President and Ms. Wing Wong, Director of China Engagement joined the meeting to give updates on recent developments. Discussions were held to explore collaboration modes of research establishment in Beijing.
CUHK and HIT Hold Exchange Meeting
The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) held online meeting on 6 April to discuss future collaboration plans. Apart from giving updated developments of both universities, the meeting focused on the directions of new collaboration plans. Participants of HIT included Mr. Xiong Jian and Mr. Chang Jiang, Director and Deputy Director of Office of Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan Affairs. Ms. Wing Wong, Director of China Engagement joined the meeting with CUHK members. Ms. Wong shared CUHK Strategic Plan 2021–2025 at the meeting, followed by in-depth discussion on both sides regarding collaboration opportunities and modes in the areas of research, talent nurturing, executive training and student interflow.
CUHK and HIT have started a range of projects including student interflow, academic exchange and research collaboration. Both universities are members of the Association of University Presidents of China and Global AI Academic Alliance. A joint research unit on Robotics was established. The student interflow programmes, covering research placement, cultural exploration, thematic studies and summer schools are popular among CUHK students.
