CUHK Organizes the 14th Chinese Academy of Sciences Academicians Visit Programme cum Lecture Series
The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) held the 14th Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) Academicians Visit Programme cum Lecture Series from 16 to 19 and 28 to 30 April on campus. Seven distinguished academicians were invited to CUHK this year, including Professor Zhang Ping, Professor Chang Kai, and Professor Ye Xiangdong of Department of Mathematical Physics, Professor Zhao Dongyuan of Department of Chemistry, Professor Xie Daoxin, Department of Life Sciences and Medicine, Professor Gu Ning of Department of Technology and Science, and Professor Fu Bojie of Department of Earth Sciences. They delivered public lectures to share their experience and expertise in their respective fields of research and met with CUHK representatives to discuss collaboration opportunities. The lectures attracted over 420 participants, including academics, researchers, and students from CUHK and other universities as well as members of the general public.
CUHK Organizes Thematic Talk of Xinjiang



The China Engagement Office and the T.T. Ng Chinese Language Research Centre of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) collaborated with the Bureau of Culture and Tourism of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of China, to co-organize a thematic talk on the literature and history of Xinjiang on 16 May.
The event featured two distinguished speakers: Mr. Liu Liangcheng, a renowned literature writer, and Mr. Yu Zhiyong, Associate Director of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Museum. They introduced the literary creations and historical culture of Xinjiang, sharing their insights and engaging in interactive discussions with the audience to better understand the unique aspects of Xinjiang. The talk covered a range of topics, including the relationship between humans and nature, the historical background behind the artistic works of Xinjiang, cultural traditions, and their influence on contemporary society, providing a comprehensive and engaging learning experience.
This collaborative activity attracted close to 100 participants and demonstrated a fruitful exchange of knowledge and perspectives, fostering a deeper understanding of the rich cultural heritage of Xinjiang.
