CUHK Hosts Briefing and Seminar on New Generation Domestic Supercomputing System "Tianhe Xingyi"
On 19 June, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) hosted a briefing and seminar on the new generation domestic supercomputing system “Tianhe Xingyi.” The event was part of a seminar series organized by the National Supercomputing Center in Guangzhou. It attracted over 130 faculty, students, and researchers in CUHK to attend, learning more about the advantages of the Xingyi system and the Xingguang platform.
Professor Xu Jianbin, Associate Dean of the Faculty of Engineering of CUHK, delivered a welcoming speech at the seminar. He reflected on the establishment of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Supercomputing Alliance in 2018, spearheaded by Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU) in collaboration with CUHK and other universities. This alliance has significantly boosted supercomputing applications and research collaboration between the member institutions in recent years. It is believed that the new generation domestic supercomputing system will comprehensively support the development of the International Science and Technology Innovation Center in the Greater Bay Area, specifically in big data research, complex system analogy, and interdisciplinary collaborative innovation.
