Shandong-Hong Kong Exchange Seminar on Innovation and Technology Achievements in CUHK
To actively promote communication and collaboration among universities and industries in Shandong and Hong Kong, the Shandong-Hong Kong-Macao Innovation Alliance (SHMIA) joined hands with the Department of Science and Technology of Shandong Provincial Government, to hold the Shandong-Hong Kong Exchange Seminar on Innovation and Technology Achievements at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) on 29 May 2024. The event was co-organized by CUHK and Shandong University to facilitate the integration and development of academic, industrial, and research achievements. It comprised various activities including research talks, interflow sessions on science and technology, and dialogue between industry leaders. More than 100 participants from universities, research institutions, industries, and the investment sector in both Hong Kong and Shandong joined the activities.
Supported by the Shandong Provincial Government, SHMIA was initiated by Shandong University, CUHK, and the University of Macau to strengthen exchanges between faculty and students and foster research and teaching collaborations, providing a platform for mutual learning and cooperation among universities, and facilitating the integrated and sustainable development of industry, academia, and research in the three regions.
Jiangsu-Hong Kong-Macau University Alliance Establishes Practice Base
On 21 June, Jiangsu-Hong Kong-Macau University Alliance (JHMUA) inaugurated its new practice base at Chang Zhou. The ceremony took place at the “Two Lakes” Innovation Zone Planning Exhibition Hall, attended by leaders from relevant departments and representatives from 37 member universities from Hong Kong and Macao.
The establishment of the new practice base aimed to provide member universities with a wide range of resources, including research collaboration, creative projects, and internship opportunities. This initiative represented a new model of innovative integration and coordinated development between the Alliance and local governments. It is expected to drive innovative practices in the integrated development of Jiangsu, Hong Kong, and Macao, deepening collaboration in education with new vitality and momentum.
Initiated by Nanjing University in 2021, JHMUA aspires to promote exchanges in the fields of talent nurture, research collaboration, and preservation of cultural heritage among universities in Jiangsu Province, Hong Kong, and Macao, jointly promoting the prosperous development of the Yangtze River Delta Region and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. CUHK is a member of the first standing committee of JHMUA.
