CUHK’s Cataract Blindness Elimination Programme Launches in Guangxi
GX Foundation and the Health Commission of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) regarding Cataract Blindness Elimination Programme on 22 March in Nanning. The MOU was signed by Prof. Emily Chan, GX Foundation CEO and Assistant Dean of Faculty of Medicine, The Chinese University of Hong Kong; and Mr. Liao Pinhu, Director of the Health Commission of Guangxi Province. The ceremony was witnessed by Mr. Leung Chun-ying, GX Foundation Chairman; Mr. Lan Tianli, Chairman of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region; as well as representatives of GX Foundation, the Autonomous Region government and the Health Commission. Under this programme, professional medical teams will travel to Cambodia and Lao People’s Democratic Republic to provide quality cataract surgical services to local residents, restoring sight for those in need.
