President of CUHK Visits Shenzhen
Professor Rocky S. Tuan, Vice-Chancellor and President of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), visited Shenzhen from 23 to 24 March. In addition to attending a series of events celebrating the 10th anniversary of CUHK Shenzhen, Professor Tuan also met with Mr. Qin Wei-Zhong, Mayor of Shenzhen, to discuss further cooperation plans in innovation and technology as well as education between CUHK and Shenzhen.
On 24 March, Professor Tuan paid a visit to Huawei Shenzhen Headquarters and toured the Digital Exhibition Hall for the healthcare industry. A meeting was held with the Health Commission of Henan Province, the Henan Academy of Medical Sciences (HAMC), and the leading executives of Huawei, where collaborative opportunities were discussed. Professor Tuan also witnessed the signing of a letter of intent in Intelligent Medical Technology between HAMC and the Department of Biomedical Engineering of CUHK during the meeting. He expressed his expectation that this scientific platform to be established, combining the strengths of 3 parties, would foster substantial collaboration to meet the needs of talent cultivation, academic research, and technological development.
