CUHK Attends the Annual Meeting of Shanghai-Hong Kong University Alliance
The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) joined the 2024 Annual Meeting of the Shanghai-Hong Kong University Alliance (SHUA) on 17 October. Ms. Wing Wong, Director of China Engagement attended the activities on behalf of CUHK with leaders and representatives from member institutions. Guests who attended the event included Ms Wu Cheng, Deputy Director of the Department of Educational, Scientific and Technological Affairs of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the HKSAR; Ms. Zhu Min, Director of the Moral Education Division of the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission; and Dr Choi Yuk-lin, the Secretary for Education in the HKSAR.
Participants summarized the work of the Alliance, discussed further development plans, and mapped out cooperation blueprints in talent cultivation, innovative technology, and research. A forum on the development of the Hong Kong-Shanghai education ecosystem, focusing on the use of artificial intelligence technology was held.
Founded by 8 universities in Shanghai and another 8 universities in Hong Kong in November 2018, SHUA is committed to establishing a closer linkage among member universities, fostering talent nurturing and scientific research collaboration. CUHK has long been in close partnership with universities and research institutions in Shanghai to promote exchanges in a broad range of areas including research collaboration, student interflow, and exchange activities globally.
