CUHK installs Professor Dennis Lo Yuk-ming as its ninth Vice-Chancellor and President
The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) held the inauguration ceremony for its ninth Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dennis Lo Yuk Ming, on May 20. The ceremony was officiated by Professor John Chai Yat-chiu, Chairman of the CUHK Council. Over 700 attendees, including CUHK faculty, students, alumni, and distinguished guests, among them representatives from institutions across the Chinese Mainland and overseas, gathered to witness this significant milestone.
In his inaugural address, Professor Lo reflected on his deep-rooted connection to Hong Kong and CUHK, where he has served for 28 years. He described the University as his second home, a place where he has continually drawn inspiration from outstanding scholars, pioneering innovators, and dedicated students. He expressed gratitude to the visionary founders of CUHK for laying a strong foundation that has enabled the University to thrive and achieve excellence.
Professor Lo stated that he will continue to do my utmost to serve this forward-looking institution in its pursuit of excellence. He also encouraged the younger generation to pursue their dreams with courage, positivity, and determination, urging them to forge ahead and realize their ideals with unwavering resolve.
