Beijing Municipal Talent Work Bureau Visits CUHK
A delegation from the Beijing Municipal Talent Work Bureau visited The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) on 4 June to have a high-level exchange on talent development and innovation collaboration. The delegation was led by Mr. Zhang Ruobing, Director of the Bureau and he was received by CUHK Vice-Chancellor and President, Professor Dennis Lo Yuk Ming.
CUHK established the CUHK Beijing Centre in 2023, serving as the University’s liaison hub in the city. The Centre has been playing a pivotal role in promoting education and research development, facilitating academic exchange and innovation collaboration, and strengthening connections among government, industry, and alumni to foster mutual benefit and shared growth.
Deputy Mayor of Shanghai Yangpu District Leads Delegation to Visit CUHK
On 20 May, a delegation led by Mr. Xu Jianhua, Standing Committee Member of the CPC Yangpu District Committee and Deputy Mayor of Yangpu District, visited The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) to foster collaboration in research, innovation, and talent development.
The delegation was warmly received by CUHK representatives, including Professor Chan Wai-yee, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Professor Hector Chan, Associate Vice-President, and related CUHK members. During the meeting, CUHK expressed gratitude for the longstanding support from Yangpu District, which has played a vital role in advancing the University’s Greater China Strategic Initiatives. Both sides devised plans for further development based on the solid achievement of the CUHK Shanghai Centre, intending to strengthen the cooperation in scientific innovation and talent cultivation between Hong Kong and Shanghai.
The delegation next visited the Multi-Scale Medical Robotics Center and the Centre for Neuromusculoskeletal Restorative Medicine (CNRM), gaining insights into cutting-edge developments in these fields at CUHK.
Hebei CPPCC Delegation Visits CUHK and Signs Agreement
A delegation led by Mr. Zhang Gujiang, Vice Chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), Hebei Provincial Committee, visited The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) on 9 May to foster academic and research collaboration. The delegation comprised representatives from the Baoding and Xingtai Municipal Committees of the CPPCC, the Hebei Provincial Department of Science and Technology, and Hebei University of Chinese Medicine.
During the visit, meetings were held with CUHK’s Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Sham Mai-har and Professor Jun Yu, Director of the Institute of Digestive Disease. Both parties had in-depth discussions on strengthening academic ties and advancing joint medical research initiatives. The visit was concluded with the signing of a strategic cooperation agreement between the Baoding International Medical Base and the CUHK Institute of Digestive Disease to bolster collaboration in Hebei Province, making a joint contribution to the medical development of the region and China as a whole.
