Lo Fu Cheung Greater Bay Area Study Tour 2025 Concludes
Jointly organized by Chung Chi College of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), Muse College of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen), and Choi Kai Yau College of the University of Macao, the Lo Fu Cheung Greater Bay Area Study Tour 2025, was successfully held from 21 to 31 May. The programme was sponsored by Mr. Lo Fu Cheung, Founder and Chairman of Wing Fu Container Group, for 3 years. This year, 60 outstanding students from the three regions were selected to participate in the 11-day immersive tour, gaining firsthand insights into the strategic development of the Greater Bay Area (GBA) and exploring national opportunities.
At the opening ceremony on May 27, officiating guests held a ribbon symbolically launching the journey and signifying the close collaboration among the three universities. A keynote speech was given by Professor Ling Kar Kan of CUHK’s School of Architecture, titled “Understanding the Development Trends of the Greater Bay Area through Planning Projects.” Professor Ling offered an in-depth analysis of regional development strategies and encouraged students to embrace the responsibilities and contribute their talents to national prosperity.
Throughout the tour, participating students and teachers visited key GBA cities including Guangzhou, Foshan, Jiangmen, Shenzhen, Hong Kong, and Macao. They attended thematic lectures, seminars, and exhibitions, and had discussions on the opportunities and challenges brought by artificial intelligence. Visits were paid to cultural and historical museums across the regions, CUHK’s campuses in Hong Kong and Shenzhen, and the University of Macao. There were field visits to leading enterprises to gain a comprehensive view of GBA’s dynamic growth and innovation landscape.
The study tour not only fostered active exchanges among youth from the 3 regions, but also deepened their understanding of the development blueprint of the country, to engage in the future of GBA.
