Summer School for Mainland Students (SSMS)

The China Engagement Office of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) organized the Summer School for Mainland Students (SSMS) from 20 July to 9 August 2025, admitting a total of 668 students. The school offered 26 courses covering various fields, including general education, engineering, social sciences, sciences, and arts. Participating students attended classes and joined visits to CUHK and various activities to learn more about other cultures and from each other, fostering exchanges and forging valuable friendships.

The first Greater Bay Area Summer School (GBASS) was held in 2020. In 2022, GBASS was renamed Summer School for Mainland Students to expand admission to all partner universities in China’s Mainland and Macao with a greater variety of participation.
