President of CUHK Visits Hefei
Professor Rocky S. Tuan, Vice-Chancellor and President of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) visited Hefei from 21 to 23 January 2024 to strengthen ties and foster collaboration with partner institutions in Hefei. He met with Professor Bao Xinhe, President of the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC); Professor Pan Jianwei, Executive Vice President of USTC, and other senior management of USTC.
Professor Tuan and Professor Bao exchanged ideas on recent developments. Both parties agreed to consolidate collaboration efforts for partnership development. During the meeting with Professor Pan, several topics were discussed including the collaboration plans to jointly further the research collaboration to utilize Hong Kong’s strength in forming a world-class research team and building an advanced platform. Since the signing of the academic exchange agreement in 1992, CUHK and USTC have achieved fruitful results in research collaboration and the nurturing of talents. Professor Tuan expressed that it was a very fruitful visit which successfully deepened academic and scientific collaborations among strategic partners.
