CUHK Signs Agreement With HICOOL on CUHK Beijing Centre
The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and HICOOL Business School held an agreement signing ceremony for strategic collaboration on 17 February on the co-establishment of CUHK Beijing Center. The two parties agreed to give full play to their respective advantages and carry out all-round collaborations in scientific and technological innovation, talent training, and knowledge transfer services, with the aim of supporting the national innovation-driven development strategy and promoting the collaboration of technological innovation between Beijing and Hong Kong.
Professor Chan Wai-Yee, CUHK Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Strategic Development), and Ms. Yuan Fan-Ting, General Manager of HICOOL Business School, signed the agreement on behalf of the two parties. Prof. Zhou Lin, Dean of CUHK Faculty of Business Administration; Prof. Liu Min, Director of the CUHK EMBA (Chinese) Program; Prof. Benny Zee, Director of Office of Research and Knowledge Transfer Services; Mr. Daniel Cheng, Director of Alumni Affairs Office; Ms. Wing Wong, Director of China Engagement; witness the signing in CUHK with Mr. Wang Xuan-Hua, and Ms. Chang Xue-Ying, Executive Director and Deputy Director of the Hong Kong and Macao Liaison Office of Beijing Leading Group for Talented Professionals. Representatives of CUHK Beijing alumni attended the signing ceremony simultaneously held at the CUHK Beijing Center.
Professor Chan said, “With the strong support of Beijing Leading Group for Talented Professionals, CUHK and HICOOL Business School have established a strategic partnership to jointly contribute to the development of CUHK Beijing Center. Through diversified and multi-channel communication, we will be able to utilize our respective advantages and carry out various collaborations in education, technology, and talent nurturing. The establishment will further combine innovation and entrepreneurship education resources and strength, expand the interactive channels to create a good environment for talent growth in Beijing and Hong Kong, and open a new chapter for the development of CUHK in the Chinese Mainland.”
After the signing ceremony, CUHK and HICOOL conducted meetings to discuss specific collaboration projects among CUHK, HICOOL Business School, and the National Torch Academy of Innovation & Entrepreneurship.
CUHK Beijing Center will actively play the role of a stronghold in Beijing to promote scientific research collaborations, academic exchange, and student interflow between CUHK and major organizations and universities in Beijing. It will also render support and provide a gathering place for CUHK alumni in Beijing to organize various alumni activities and promote networking. CUHK Business School Meets HICOOL Business School
The Faculty of Business Administration (Business School) of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) visited the CUHK Beijing Center and HICOOL Business School on 13 February. Representatives included Dean Zhou Lin, Profess Liu Ming, and Professor Dai Xianchi. The delegation also visited the Qian Men campus and Shun Yi campus of HICOOL Business School and held a discussion meeting on collaboration plans.
At the meeting, Dean Zhou gave an update on the recent development of CUHK Business School, while Ms. Yuan Fan-Ting, General Manager of HICOOL introduced the incubation and empowerment of global technology entrepreneur returnees and National Torch Academy of Innovation & Entrepreneurship (Zhongguancun, ZGC). Professor Liu Ming, Director of EMBA (Chinese) Programme and Director of the Tsinghua University-CUHK FMBA Programme, shared information on the programme developments. Discussions were held on all-around strategic cooperation in space, training and education.
Representatives of CUHK Alumni, including Mr. Michael Ma, President of CUHK Business School Beijing Alumni Association; Ms. Dai Xiao-Yuan, President of CUHK Beijing FMBA Alumni Association; Mr. Wang Yao-Jun. Vice President of CUHK Beijing FMBA Alumni Association; and Mr. Lu Lili, Secretary of CUHK EMBA (Chinese) Programme Alumni Association; also held a sharing session with HICOOL. The delegation next toured the Shun Yi campus of HICOOL Business School to learn more about the education facilities. The visit enhanced communication and conducted a preliminary plan for collaboration.
